Billy Gibbons – Solo unterwegs

Am 06. November steht mit dem Titel Perfectamundo Billy Gibbons erste Solo-Scheibe in dem Plattenladen eures Vertrauens. Ab dem 10. November tourt der ZZ Top-Gitarrist mit Uterstützung der Band BFG durch die USA – Deutschlandtermine sind indessen noch nicht bekannt.

Doch einen visuellen Vorgeschmack liefert euch das neue Video zu Treat Her Right.

Gibbons erklärte im Rolling Stone zur neuen Platte und dem Touren mit BFG folgendes klar: „ZZ Top, by definition, remains a minimalist endeavor with a very straightforward established approach which continues to serve us well now going past four-plus decades. The BFG’s, on the other hand, have now gone on to exploring some uncharted sonic and, especially, rhythmic territory within an accommodating context. Deep at the core of everything we do, either as ZZ Top or with the Perfectamundo aggregation, is the blues. That’s the diamond and we found a way to put it into a new, Afro-Cuban setting. It really does come from the same place.”

Die neue Single Treat Her Right ist übrigens der oft gecoverte Soul-Hit von Roy Head, der bereits 1965 die Charts stürmte.
