Deep Purple veröffentlichen erste Single „Throw My Bones“ aus kommendem Longplayer „Whoosh!“
Am 21. Juni 2020 erscheint mit Whoosh! das 21. Studioalbum der Rockinstitution Deep Purple. Nun veröffentlichte die Band die erste Singleauskopplung des Albums – den Song Throw My Bones.

Die Lyrics sitzen
Wir wollen Deep Purple nun wirklich keine hellseherischen Fähigkeiten unterstellen – und auch, dass so manches Stück im Rahmen der derzeitigen Corona-Pandemie eine ganz neue Bedeutung bekommt, ist nicht überraschend. Wirft man jedoch einen Blick auf die Lyrics der neuen Singleauskopplung Throw My Bones, stolpert man jedoch über einige bemerkenswert gut zur aktuellen Zeit passenden Passagen: „You can’t escape tomorrow, it’s another day / I’m hanging here, I’m here on solid ground /‘Cos heaven’s full, or closing down“, singt Ian Gillan in dem Song – das von den Herren Airey, Gillan, Glover, Morse und Paice verfasst wurde. Und sogar noch offensichtlicher: „I don’t know what lies ahead / It’s all a mystery man, I heard it said / You do your thing, do your best / I take a guess at what happen next“.

Bei dem Song handelt es sich um die erste Singleauskopplung aus dem Album Whoosh!, dem 21. Longplayer der Band. Neben prominenten Orgelparts und eingängigen Hooks dürfen sich Deep-Purple-Fans auch auf Steve Morse in Bestform freuen – das zeigt sich an dem kurzen, aber beeindruckenden Gitarrensolo. Zeitgleich mit ihrer Single veröffentlichen Deep Purple auch ein Video, das es auf ihrem offiziellen YouTube-Kanal zu sehen gibt.
„Whoosh!“: Details zur Veröffentlichung
„Whoosh!“ erscheint am 12. Juni 2020 über earMusic. Erhältlich wird es in mehreren Editionen sein – darunter eine limitierte Edition mit CD+DVD Mediabook. Diese beinhaltet einen einstündigen Videomitschnitt einer Konversation zwischen Roger Glover und Bob Ezrin sowie die vollständigen Performance der Band am Hellfest 2017. Neben einem Boxset wird es unter anderem auch ein Vinyl-DVD-Bundle sowie eine digitale Version geben.
